Claude pricing for business: Team, Enterprise and usage

Claude Team Standard costs US$20 per seat per month billed annually, or US$25 monthly, with a two-seat minimum. Premium costs US$100 per seat per month billed annually, or US$125 monthly. Enterprise charges an annual seat commitment plus metered usage. Team API credits follow separate rules.

Choose the billing model as well as the seat

Team includes Claude, Claude Code and Cowork with per-person usage allowances. Extra usage credits can extend work beyond those allowances. An unused allowance on one Team seat cannot be transferred to a colleague.

The current Enterprise plan charges for access, then bills all Chat, Code and Cowork usage at API rates. Its US$20 seat fee includes no token allowance. Self-serve usage uses prepaid credits; sales-assisted usage is billed monthly in arrears. Legacy Enterprise arrangements can differ.

Equal seat prices therefore do not imply equal total costs. Ask what controls the firm needs and what the proposed workload consumes. For a 200-person rollout, check Enterprise rather than assuming Team's 150-seat ceiling can accommodate everyone.

The Team account creator needs a business email address. Other members must use an allowed domain; public domains can be permitted for them.

API credits are separate from extra app usage

Eligible Team subscriptions can claim monthly Claude Platform API credits by linking a Console organization. The allowance is US$20 per Standard seat and US$100 per Premium seat, pooled up to US$500 per month. New subscribers can claim after seven days. Unused credits expire each cycle, with monthly expiry for annual plans.

Those credits do not cover Claude Code or extra usage in the Claude apps. API usage draws from the linked Console balance; it is not charged to the Team subscription. Purchased credits or enabled auto-reload can fund further API work. Auto-reload watches the purchased balance and can trigger even while included credits remain. Enterprise is not eligible for this subscriber-credit program.

Keep three entries in the review: Team seats, extra app usage and the linked API account. Credits reduce eligible API charges only when claimed and used before expiry. Do not subtract their face value from the seat invoice or count an unclaimed allowance as cash savings.

Illustrative example: 22 Standard and three Premium seats

Annual billing: (22 x US$20 + 3 x US$100) x 12 = US$8,880 for an annual commitment.

Assume a hypothetical 25-seat Team workspace, unchanged for a full year, with no purchased extra usage.

  • Annual: (22 × US$20 + 3 × US$100) × 12 = US$8,880 upfront.
  • Monthly: 22 × US$25 + 3 × US$125 = US$925 per month, or US$11,100 across 12 unchanged months.
  • Claimable API allowance: the calculated US$740 is limited to the program's US$500 monthly cap. That allowance does not reduce the US$8,880 seat charge.

For comparison, 25 current Enterprise seats have a US$6,000 annual access fee before any usage. That is a fee floor, not a like-for-like cheaper replacement for Team: the usage model is different. Build the Enterprise estimate from a measured workload and the quoted rates.

How to check your Claude Team bill

Adding Team members or upgrading seats creates an immediate prorated charge. Removing a member does not create an immediate refund or credit; the seat becomes available for reassignment.

Source checked October 27, 2026: Anthropic, How is my Team plan bill calculated?.

  1. Match purchased seats to named users and their current need.
  2. Check the commitment, renewal date and the effect of any planned reduction.
  3. Check app-usage credits, API auto-reload and the owner of each account.
  4. Save the decision and verify the following invoice after the action.

Questions before you commit

Can one person buy the Team plan?

Team requires at least two members and is intended for teams. Compare individual plans separately if there is only one intended user.

Are Team API credits the same as extra usage in Claude?

No. The claimable credits fund eligible Claude Platform activity. They do not increase the app or Code allowance.

Does Enterprise include unlimited usage for US$20?

No. The current seat fee buys access, while consumption is charged separately. Confirm whether your agreement is current or legacy before calculating it.

How should we choose Premium users?

Use evidence from the work and the limits people encounter. Compare the higher seat commitment with an approved extra-usage budget, then revisit the decision as the workload changes.

Read AI seat versus usage pricing to separate fixed commitments from variable charges. Compare AI subscription review options if you are choosing a spreadsheet, AccruePilot or connected software. The AI tool inventory template guide explains how to keep separate accounts visible.

The AccruePilot AI Spend Control System is US$59 once for a local browser Control Center, editable Excel workbook and 12-page field guide. You supply and maintain the records. It does not discover accounts, enforce vendor budgets or cancel subscriptions.
